So I wanted to say sorry to everyone. Leigh Anne officially has mommy brain. She posted the same pics twice in two different post. So here are some new ones.

So we have found out something about our little man. He loves Stairway to Heaven (Rockabye Lullaby version)! He can scream and get mad but as soon as you put it on he is content.

Yay! It's Spring!

We are all so excited that winter has disappeared and that spring it finally here! We, as a family, have a lot of fun things planned for this warm season. We will be gardening in our community garden again this year and are so excited to eat fresh produce throughout the spring and summer. We won't be planting nearly as many different kinds of vegetables this year, as some just didn't grow as well as others, but we're excited for tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, lettuce, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, green and banana peppers, strawberries, and raspberries. If you're in the neighborhood and would like to stop by for a fresh, homegrown salad, give us a call!

We are also excited to start taking family walks on Lake Shore Drive. Poor Lucy has been cooped up in the house all winter and misses her long family walks, so we'll be heading to Lake Michigan often to enjoy the warmth and get some much needed exercise.



The zoo is also calling our name! We'll be headed there to introduce Landon to all the animals. We're excited!

A Smile for Daddy!

Today, Phil got Landon to smile!  I was able to capture it so that we could share it with all of you!  Check out this face!  Although he's smiled many times before, today was the first time that we got him to smile because of our silly actions. His smile is as big as any I have ever seen!  We're looking forward to many more smiles from this little guy! Landon has also begun following my voice and making small cooing sounds.  It's so fun to listen to his early talking.

Landon also loves to nap on my lap, probably because I constantly sway my legs back and forth which puts him to sleep pretty quickly.

I thought I'd add a picture of our other child, Lucy. She's been pretty patient with the whole "bringing home a baby that takes all of her attention away" thing. She's still our favorite dog-ter!

We've also started Tummy Time so that Landon can start strengthening his neck muscles. He was on his tummy for the first time yesterday, for about two minutes, and seemed to enjoy it. We'll continue daily so that he can grow stronger!

1 Month Old

Today, Landon is 1 month old!  Where have the last four weeks gone?  I feel as if we just got home from the hospital yesterday. We are still in awe at the little man that we get to graciously call our son! We have learned a lot about Landon during the past four weeks and thought we'd share some of what we have learned with you.

*Landon loves to be rocked in our arms rather than being rocked in his vibrating infant chair
*Landon stops crying when Phil sings to him
*Landon is a good eater (must take after his parents)
*He's very strong and is using his legs to push up while being held
*Landon's smile melts our hearts
*Landon seems to enjoy Lucy and doesn't mind when she licks him
*Landon is the best thing that has happened to us and we are so thankful for him

We are so excited to see what the second month of his life brings! But at the same time, we don't want time to fly by as fast as it has thus far...we enjoy little Landon and don't want him to grow up too fast!

Landon is 18 Days Old!

Wow!  Phil and I are still in awe at how wonderful our little boy is. We have been home for 16 days now and are amazed at the little gift that God has given us. Being parents is such a wonderful thing and we feel so lucky to have Landon in our lives. We are truly enjoying watching him grow!  Getting to know his personality it a lot of fun too! We love when he smiles and makes little giggle sounds. We also love his "pooping" face...not only does it make it easy to know when his diaper needs to be changed, but it's the cutest face in the world.
